While Turkey is striving to get a bigger share from the wedding market, which has a shopping value of 300 billion dollars in the world, world stars in this sector will meet in Antalya IMWF Wedding Fair, between 18-22 November.
Necip Fuat Ersoy is the managing partner of the International MICE & Wedding Forum (IMWF), which organizes international congresses, conferences and various events along with wedding events. He said that before the epidemic, the annual value of the wedding shopping industry in the world reached 300 billion dollar.
In general, events such as international meetings, conferences, congresses, events and destination weddings are held in the wedding industry. Necip Fuat Ersoy, explaining that they will bring together the world stars in the sector with the representatives of airlines, hotels and suppliers in Turkey, continued as follows:
“This event, which will be held for the fifth time in Turkey this year; international press, social media influencers and bloggers will follow. IMWF’21, the most important event of the year in its segment, will take place in Antalya after a mandatory one-year break due to the pandemic. IMWF, which is eagerly awaited by the most important players of the world wedding industry, will continue for four days and four nights.
Fuat Ersoy drew attention to the fact that Turkey can get only 1 percent of the world’s wedding shopping market. ”The foreign wedding industry is worth $100 billion in India alone. $30 billion of this is realized outside India. Every year, 10,000 weddings are held abroad in India. In Turkey, 20-25 Indian wedding events are held annually. We realize 90 percent of this in our company,” he said. In addition to this, Ersoy stated that they aimed to organize 40 Indian weddings in Turkey last year, but could not do it due to the pandemic, and noted that 2022 year will be better.
Emphasizing that direct flights from India to Turkey should be started, Ersoy said, “Indian tourists spend a lot money. In order to attract Indian tourists to Turkey, they should be provided with an E-visa as in China. Undoubtedly, both Indian wedding events and the number of Indian tourists will increase with the e-visa.” He said.
